Tolu Adewole
I am a highly qualified and compassionate social services worker with over a decade of experience in diverse fields, including human services, domestic violence counseling, supported housing, and addiction services. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am nearing completion of the program, with plans to become a fully Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO by mid-2025. I am currently a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counselors and the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association.
In my role as a Domestic Peace Counsellor, I provide one-on-one and group interventions rooted in attachment theory and emotionally focused therapy to support individuals and families affected by domestic violence. My experience as a Department Manager in Supported Housing has strengthened my expertise in crisis management, strategic planning, and team leadership.
I am deeply committed to improving the lives of my clients through evidence-based, compassionate care. My focus includes trauma recovery, relationship issues, and mental health support, offering personalized and holistic approaches to help individuals and families achieve resilience and well-being. As a dedicated mother and wife, I bring empathy and understanding to my practice, supporting clients on their journey toward healing and growth.
My Approach to Therapy
Embarking on a mental health journey takes courage, and I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel understood and empowered. My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and trauma-informed, recognizing the connection between mind, body, emotions, and spirit. Together, we’ll move at your pace, exploring your concerns, identifying your needs, and addressing areas where you feel stuck.
Using techniques like mindfulness, body awareness, parts work, breathing exercises, creative activities, and connection with nature, I tailor our sessions to your unique experiences. My goal is to help you develop a healthier relationship with your emotions, nervous system, and inner self, fostering self-discovery and growth. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or seeking personal growth, I’m here to support you on a path toward healing and empowerment.

Insurance Information
We accept most major insurance plans. However, please verify with your specific insurance provider to confirm coverage for counseling and psychotherapy services. It's important to check if your plan includes mental health benefits.
Why is this important?
* Coverage Verification: Ensuring your insurance covers mental health services will help you understand your out-of-pocket costs.
* Reimbursement: Proper verification will allow you to submit claims for reimbursement, reducing the financial burden of therapy.
Please note: Insurance policies can change, so it's always a good idea to double-check your coverage before each session.
